SOMMERHUS
Set in Northern Denmark and close to the lake, Arresø, this sommerhus is designed for a small family of three who live in Copenhagen: Jennifer, Ella, and Charlie. Each person in the studio wrote a narrative outlining the summer house users and we were all assigned someone else's narrative, giving us a chance to design for very specific needs and wants and to learn how to navigate that.
Jennifer is a 32 year old single mom who works as an accountant at a large startup who dreams of selling her own ceramics and painting in a summer house escape from her job and the city.
Ella is 11 years old and loves to read. She just started getting into painting and wants to be able to do that with her mom. She also wants the summer house to be her escape and to have her own space there.
Charlie, is 5 and a half years old and loves to spend time outside. He's not very interested in art unless it involves mud, and he is a true Copenhagen-er and loves to bike.
