ecological housing studio

This 10 week studio taught at the University of Oregon by Christina Bollo was divided into 2 week increment projects. The first project was to design a duplex, then a 3 unit rowhouse, followed by a 12 unit apartment. The duplex and rowhouses were each on 50' by 100' lots, while the apartment used 3 of those lots together. These housing projects were based in the city of Oakridge, OR, a city looking to change their zoning ordinances to allow for more multifamily housing. Oakridge wanted to increase the density of their neighborhoods to build stronger community ties. The final project for this studio was 2.5 weeks in a team to compile the previous designs into a neighborhood development that would be presented to the city of Oakridge.
